Each year Professional Remodeler honors a selection of industry standouts to represent the emerging influencers in the field today. There is no fee to enter, and you may submit multiple candidates from the same organization. Submissions are due Jan. 22, 2020.
Here are some frequently asked questions about the program.
Who is eligible?
Anyone working in the remodeling or home improvement field who will be 40 years old or younger as of April 30, 2020.
Who is not eligible?
Building products manufacturers or other suppliers; association executives; and industry consultants.
Can previous winners be selected again?
No. Each award recipient can win only one time.
What are the criteria?
We look for a cross section of people working in multiple areas of the industry. Winners typically include company owners, managers, design and marketing professionals, salespeople, and administrative staff. The award celebrates leadership, professional growth and achievement, creative problem solving, and a passion for excellence.
What are you looking for in an entry?
We receive a large number of submissions, but the entries that stand out all have one thing in common: They are specific and provide examples. So rather than write, "She's a great project manager who takes action to solve any problem on the jobsite,” you might try adding more detail for the judges to review. A better approach could be, "Recently, X happened on a jobsite, and she handled the problem by doing Y." That provides the judges with a stronger case for the entry.
Want to take your entry a step further? Submit a quick video—30 seconds or less!—telling us why you or the entrant you've selected should be part of this year's Forty Under 40. Submitting a video is optional, but a great way to set you entry apart from the rest.
