Master carpenter Ben Bogie, of Built to Last Design and Build, talks about a composite shingle that is "really, pretty convincing."
"One of the things that have pushed us away from a lot of vinyl sidings over the years, is they have a tendency to not look realistic, especially when you're doing shingle or shake panels.
They've gotten better over the years and I can say, they've gotten really good recently.
The look of the Grayne product is, it's pretty convincing. You get right up close to it, and you touch it, and you start looking at it from a couple inches away, and you realize that "Yeah, it's vinyl," but it's really a pretty convincing look, that allows us to hit a cost point for clients, that's achievable, while getting a higher dollar look to the home.
It gives a level of class and a level of flair to the exterior of the building, that previously, would have financially been unattainable.
So we're very happy with the product. Especially, when it's matched with the rabbeting Kleer Konceal products, where you have no J-Channel.
And it's really a sharp looking exterior on a building."
